TWINE
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone

Darling you will go, how I wish you would stay
I’ve made a little home of sticks and clay
Don’t let it wash away
Darling I will love you, even when you leave
I can hear the wind running through the trees
Don’t let it catch your wings
For underneath the night skies, underneath the pines
I hold you, my darling, with a bit of twine
But it don’t make you mine
And underneath the darkness where we lie
We pretend that it won’t soon unwind
For I am not your kind
Darling I can’t fight, just bury it in sand
Hold back all my love, build up this dam
You’ll knock it down again
For underneath the night skies, underneath the pines
I hold you, my darling, with a bit of twine
But it’s oh-so-fine
And underneath the darkness where we lie
We pretend you don’t long for the sky
For I am not your kind, kind, kind
Ooo, no, I am not your kind
Ooo, no, I’m the one that builds, you break, you fly,
Ooo, oh, I am not your one and only
Just a place to call home for the time
No, I am not yours
I am not the one that’ll make you sing
I’ll give you the warmth, the shade, the trees
But that’s not what you need
And underneath the night skies, underneath the pines
I’ll cut you loose, and you’ll take flight
For I am not your kind, kind, kind
Ooo, no, I am not your kind
Ooo, no, and the dam comes down, the rivers rise
Ooo, oh, I am not your
Ooo, oh, ooo, I am not your
Ooo, oh, I am not yours

ALL WE HAVE
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone

All we have is what we need
Where the sky touches the sea
We walk a line, we walk a line
All we have are grains of sand,
Falling through these open hands
You can’t rewind an hourglass of time
Hm, hm
All we know is what we’ve seen
In those we’ve met, places we’ve been
So do we know much of anything?
But if this is all, all we’ll have
A path to walk with no going back
If this is all, all we’ll have
Well, it’s enough for us
We burn too bright from the start
Like the stars, we fall too far
But we rise with the night
And if this is all, all we’ll have
A path to walk with no going back
If this is all, all we’ll have
Well, it’s enough for us
And all our steps wash away with the tides
What will we know,
when the hourglass runs dry?
Oh, all our steps wash away with the tides
Where will we go,
when the moon divides day from night?
But if this is all, all we’ll have
A path to walk with no going back
If this is all, all we’ll have
Well, it’s enough for us
Oh, it’s enough for us

TEN BLACK CROWS

Ten black crows, circling overhead
Noose around his neck
“Any last requests?”
Ten black crows, circling overhead
“Any final words?”
Is what the hangman says

TEN BLACK CROWS

Air line road
No town for miles
That iron horse, she’d ride,
Filling the air with her cries
’Til hell came down in a cloud of dust
Ain’t no way to run,
From a quick shot with a loaded gun
And he stood and watched the sky run red,
“God help you now,” he said
As ten black crows circled overhead
Single bullet left
“Any last requests?”
Ten black crows circled overhead
“Any final words?”
Is what the gunman said
A trail of gold ain’t hard to follow
Can’t hide among the willows
With your name on their tongues,
Face on each town post
And though his hands were quick to the trigger
The odds, they paid no favors
Ten guns around, so he laid his down
And stood and watched the sky run red,
“God help you now,” they said
As ten black crows circled overhead
Single bullet left
“Any last requests?”
Ten black crows circled overhead
“Any final words?”
Is what the townsmen said
“Take him down to the hangman’s tree,
Hell’s what he brings, that’s where he’ll be
Take him down to the hangman’s tree”
Oh, take him down
(Ten black crows, circling overhead)
Take him down to the hangman’s tree,
Hell’s what he brings, that’s where he’ll be
(Ten black crows)
Take him down to the hangman’s tree,
Oh, take him down
(Hell’s what he brings, that’s where he’ll be)
Take him down, take him down
(Take him down to the hangman’s tree)
Ten black crows circling overhead
Noose around his neck
“Any last requests?”
Ten black crows circling overhead
“Any final words?”
Is what the hangman says

FALLEN SEEDS
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone

Mama, let the waters cleanse your soil
Mama, let them wash your children’s spoils
Sister, place your weapons on the ground
Sister, don’t need to fire your last round
Let the waters rise,
And put out the fire in your eyes
Brother, wash the stains from your hands
Brother, let this land be sacred again
Let the waters rise,
And put out the fire in your eyes
Strip this valley to the bones
Wash the dirt from every stone
Mother, watch the waves recede,
And take your sorrows out to sea
Oo, oo
Children, take the seeds from fallen trees
Children, don’t make the same mistakes as we
From our ashes, rise
But keep the fire from your eyes
Strip this valley to the bones
Wash the blood from every stone
Children, use those fallen seeds
To leave a better legacy

DEVIL IS A’CALLING
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone
Copyright 2018, South for Winter
Lord, cleanse my soul in the riverbed
Let the waters rise up
Let the waters rise up
I'm saying, “Lord, oh, Lord,
Wash this from my hands”
I met the devil by the tree
Didn't know where it would lead
Oo, oo
Well my love, he never did lie nor cheat
Never did no wrong by the Lord nor me
'Til he took a walk through the garden one day
Heard a whisper, had a taste
Felt that fire water in his veins
And I was saying,
"Oh, devil is a'calling
Oh, will you go a'walking?
Oh, devil is a'calling,
What will you do, my darling?”
Well, his tongue only craved it more with time
Soon wasn't I, but a bottle he was sleeping by
So I took a walk through the garden one night
Met a shadow on the way
Oh, I never meant to go astray
And the Lord was saying,
“Oh, devil is a'calling
Oh, will you go a'walking?
Oh, devil is a’calling
What will you do, my darling?”
(Oh, oh, oh)
With fire on my lips
I didn't hear the sound
Of the door swung wide
Feet crossed the ground
(Come with me, love)
With fire on my lips
(Take another step)
I didn't hear the sound
(Walk with me)
Of the door swung wide
(Through the gates)
His feet crossed the ground
(Come with me, love)
With hell on his breath
(Take another step)
Steel in his hand
(Walk with me)
I didn't hear him fire it
But I felt the lead
Oh, devil is a'calling
Oh, will you go a'walking?
Oh, devil is a’calling
Devil is a'calling
Oh, will you go a'walking?
Oh, devil is a’calling
(Oo)

ALWAYS YOU
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone

Oh, my love, when I lose my hold
When my eyes forget their youth
When the wind’s worn down these bones
Oh, there’s always you
And when the velvet skies grow cold
When the stars fade out too soon
When I wake in fear of ghosts
Oh, there’s always you
For it’s you
Revives my soul
When I’m worn through
Oh, it’s always you
Should the blood red tides run o’er
Should our nightmares all come true
Should we lose this holy war
I know there’ll still be you
For it’s you
Revives my soul
When I’m worn through
Oh, it’s always you
With fire untamed,
You break my chains
Shake me awake
You with your strong ways
How your love tastes
Sweeter than the summer rains,
Hmmm
Oh my love,
the skies are growing colder
Oh, my love,
I need you more than ever
Oh, my love,
the winds might blow me over
Oh, my love,
I need you more than ever
Oh, my love, when I lose my hold
When my eyes forget their youth
When the wind’s worn down these bones
Oh, there’s always you
For it’s you
Revives my soul
When I’m worn through
Oh, it’s always you
For it’s you
That leads me home
When I’m worn through
It’s always you

ALL I WANNA DO
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone

Pull the shades down on those eyes,
Misty in the morning light
Foreign is your skin against mine
But sweet is the time spent learning its lines
Take off your leaving shoes,
We’ve got nothing but time to lose
All I wanna do
Hoo, baby, is love you
All I wanna do
Hoo, baby, is love you
Leave your worries scattered across the floor
They can wait a day or more
Hush, little darling,
When your words fall short
Let your touch do all the talk
Take off your leaving shoes
We’ve got nothing but time to lose
All I wanna do
Hoo, baby, is love you
Take off your leaving shoes
We’ve got nothing but time to lose
All I wanna do
Hoo, baby, is love you
All I wanna do
Hoo, baby, is love you
All I wanna do
All I wanna do

BLACK WIDOW IN WHITE LACE
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone
Copyright 2018, South for Winter
Oh, black widow in white lace
Painted smile on her lips
Oh, left six miles from heaven
Searching for her innocence
Oh, black widow in white lace
Judgment was swift and unkind,
And not one of two thousand tongues did
Defend her life
When the silence fell
Over those holy rivers
Her voice rang out
These words, she delivered:
“I’ll take them down with me
Take them down, take your sins
For the devil to keep
Take them down with me”
Oh, black widow in white lace
Can’t find rest beneath the ground
And so she carries beyond the grave
Secrets of a ghost town
And when the silence falls
Over those holy rivers
Her voice rings out
These words, she delivers:
“I’ll take them down with me
Take them down, take your sins
For the devil to keep
Take them down with me”
Oh, when it’s time for your penance
I'll bring to hell your confessions
(I’ll take them down with me)
Cleanse all the guilt from those hands of red
(Take them down, for the devil to keep)
Oh, beg the devil’s forgiveness
Ahh, ahh
Take them down,
Take them down with me
Take them down,
Take them down with me
Ahh, ahh

STONE
Written by Dani Cichon and Nick Stone
Copyright 2016, South for Winter
Oh, painted skies
Mirrored in the tides
The day your love passed mine
I let it drift on by
I let it drift on by
Oh, the day you went
I play it in my head
My mind begged you not to go
But my feet were stone, stone
And as stone I’ll remain here
Where the rivers meet the sea
Where you used to go to breathe, breathe
Where the heavens kiss the shore
I’ll be waiting for you just a little more, more
Ooo, ooo
Oh, alabaster arms
They need your warmth
The days move like the waves
And still I stay, stay
Where the rivers meet the sea
Where you used to go to breathe, breathe
Where the heavens kiss the shore
I’ll be waiting for you just a little more, more
Ooo, ooo
Ahhh, ahh
Where the rivers meet the sea
Where you used to go to breathe, breathe
Where the heavens kiss the shore
I’ll be waiting for you just a little more, more
(Ooo, ooo)
I’ll be waiting for you just a little more, more
(Ahh, ahh)
I’ll be waiting for you just a little more, more
Stone, stone
